( SHUTTER SQUEAK REPAIR Canon AE1, AE-1 Program, A1... )

The Canon A-Series cameras, after several years of faithful, reliable service, develop a squeak when the shutter is activated. This comes from the mirror box assembly drying out and needing re-lubrication service. I have done this procedure many times at a local camera store where I've worked for 7+ years, where taking care of the camera repairs is one of the many hats that I wear. The routine in-store cost for this service is $85. You can now get the very same service through the eBay community for much less. See eBay for my latest discount pricing or send me an email - oldtractornut@frontiernet.net. Does your camera also need the black foam light baffle seals? (A good way to tell is to open the back and touch or lightly rub one of the seals. If it feels sticky, or if part of it comes off on your finger, or, worse yet, if you've had fogged or exposed areas on your film lately, it's due for replacement.) If so, just add an extra $20 to the repair cost and I'll replace those for you at the same time. Turnaround time is usually under a week. The return shipping is only $7.50, and I'll even include insurance! Just send a cashier's check or money order in with your camera. Personal checks are OK but take longer to clear. Now for the fine print: This service is for the above mentioned repairs only. Non-functioning cameras may need other services in addition to the ones mentioned above. For these please email me ahead of time. The turnaround times mentioned above do not include shipping time. The camera in the photograph is for illustrative purposes only and is not available for sale. Batteries not included.... Thanks and just send an email to oldtractornut@frontiernet.net for answers to any of your questions.

I can also repair the battery doors on 35mm & digital point & shoot style cameras. They're prone to break the hinges easily and I've come up with a way to fix them, or maybe I should say, repair the broken door, by epoxy-ing in new metal hinge pins in lieu of the standard issue plastic ones that break if you look at them wrong.

If you are interested in a real deal check out my eBay auctions . I usually have one running. If you do not see it right away, one will be available soon. However, if you are interested in immediate service just send an email to make shipping arrangement or for answers to any of your questions (oldtractornut@earthlink.net). Thanks ~Randy
