In May of 2014 I did get to make a quick trip to the Transportation Museum in Roanoke to see the trains. I really enjoyed seeing all the steam trains especially the J Class 611 (pictured above). They are about to move the 611 to NC to have it rebuilt, over the next nine months or so, to allow excursions to take place and I for one am going to sign up for a ride. This is the only remaining J class engine from the Roanoke yards that were built from 1941 to early fifties. The rest were cut up; what a waste… I plan on going back to the Museum sometime this summer for a longer visit and will take a lot more pictures. ~Bill
